Exterior cleaning & roof cleaning in Ferndown

Our client in Ferndown required the full range of exterior cleaning methods to rejuvenate the building.

With the building being two storeys and requiring work at height, JECS worked safely from a mobile scaffold tower to ensure a safe and thorough cleaning job could be undertaken.

1. Telescopic roof moss removal and moss treatment

We began this job from the top down, starting by scraping off and removing all of the moss from the building roof. Our telescopic scrapers meant that we didn't even need to go on the roof, reducing pressure on the tiles and potential working hazards.

With the inevitable debris build up and moss growth through the seasons, it's important to thoroughly clean a building's roof from grime and moss. Removing this organic matter ensures regrowth is reduced and protects potential weakened areas (e.g. between tiles). With the high numbers of trees in an area like Ferndown, it's good to regularly remove moss from roofs to keep on top of the problem.

2. Gutter clearing with GutterVac

As well as dealing with the moss build up on the roof tiles, we next cleared the debris and dirt in the gutters.

Using GutterVac technology up whilst up on the tower scaffold, we could carefully inspect each gutter section and downspout to clear away debris and give them a good clean. Once a gutter is clear, it can more easily flush away future matter that washes in from the roof with the rain, resulting in less blockages.

3. Softwashing and chemical roof cleaning in Ferndown

Once the roof and gutters were free from organic matter and dirt, we could begin the biocide roof cleaning treatment to thoroughly clean the roof itself.

With specialist roof cleaning chemicals that provide a long lasting treatment to the roof by ridding it of spores, we are able to safely treat the building roof against future moss regrowth.

4. Fascia soffit cleaning and window cleaning

Now that dirt was effectively removed from the roof, we could complete the more visible aspect of the exterior clean - washing the fascias, soffits and windows.

Using our Pure Water Fed pole system equipment, we provide a complete clean for the exterior aspects of the building with careful attention paid to removing smears and rinsing the surface thoroughly.
